On the journey between Ile d’Oleron and Taninges as part of the Tour de France we stopped for two nights in Trevoux near Lyon.
Tuesday 1st
Travel day from Jul 2023 : Donzenac we arrived at the campsite at around 3:30pm and were told to select our own pitch… facilities were basic, but sufficient. The campsite was on the bank of the river Soane and had signs warning how to respond to a flash flood!
Wednesday 2nd
I woke up early and went out for a run over the pedestrian bridge and along the banks of the river.
After breakfast we gathered our things and headed into Lyon for the day. We took a train into the center and then got a tram to the science museum.
After looking at lots of exhibits we hired some bikes and cycled back up the river bank to the station.
We went out on bikes to explore the village a little in the evening and found a lovely restaurant for dinner. We attempted to steal an Orangina glass but failed.
Thursday 3rd
Travel day towards Morzine which was a shorter drive than lots of the other hops meaning after leaving at around 11:30 we arrived with enough time to go up to Morzine for the afternoon.
