We kick started our Tour De France summer holiday with an overnight ferry from Portsmouth to St Malo. Due to booking late, there was only one cabin remaining which was a three berth, but bonus was one of the window’d cabins which included continental breakfast delivered to our room in the morning!

We started to get a little nervous queueing to board as it seemed everyone else was getting on but for some reason our small queue was being left out 😬
Turns out the reason we were being singled out was due to being so wide! We were one of the very last to board and they snuck us right at the back straddling two lanes and only had about 15cm of room from the top of the bikes to the ceiling! TIL that the bikes on the roof are higher than the caravan.

Once on board we found our cabin which was fabulous! Only three beds but lots of space, a shower, a mini bar and a small table to prepare breakfast. We hadn’t intended to be in a fancy room, but loved that we did! Commodore Club apparently 🤷♂️

We heard about the on ship cinema so went to reception to buy tickets (not sure anyone would have checked if we didn’t have tickets) then went to find food. Turns out food is the thing most people prioritise when getting on board and there was a bit of a queue meaning we missed the first 25 mins of the film. Food was good value, due to a free under 12s meal with a three course adult meal we all ate for about €55.

The movie was the live action remake of The Little Mermaid which was good. The projector shutdown half way through but a little bit to self administered IT support (turn it off and on again) got us watching again. We rate the film ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Henry and Juli shared one of the single beds and Lottie had the sofa bed. We all slept well and were gently woken with soft music through the PA at about 6am shortly after our breakfast was delivered including hot chocolate and coffee, mini pastries and bread rolls. After breakfast we went for a little explore of the ship.
